Sleep Recorder – Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
This policy explains what information the Sleep Recorder app ("the app"), published by Batuhan Senavci, collects and how it is used.
Your recordings stay on your phone
- The app uses the microphone only after you tap Start Recording. It saves short audio clips when it hears a sound.
- Clips, sound labels (snoring, talking, other) and sleep-talk transcripts are created and stored on your device only. Sound analysis and speech-to-text run on the device using the phone's on-device frameworks (Apple's on iPhone, Android's on-device speech recognition on Android); your audio is never uploaded to us or to any server we control.
- While a recording is running, the app reads your phone's motion sensor (accelerometer) to count how often you move. Only per-minute movement counts are saved, on your device only; they are never uploaded or shared, and the app does not ask for Motion & Fitness access.
- Clips leave your phone only if you choose to share one yourself.
- Deleting the app deletes your recordings.
Information collected by third-party services
- Advertising (Google AdMob) – shown to users without a Premium subscription. AdMob may collect device identifiers (including the advertising identifier if you allow tracking), approximate location derived from IP address, and ad interaction data. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland you are asked for consent first; on iOS you can allow or deny tracking; on Android you can reset or delete the advertising ID in Settings > Privacy > Ads. Google Privacy Policy
- Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics and Amplitude) – usage events such as starting a recording, opening a report or seeing an ad, the recording's length and interruptions, and your phone's battery level rounded to 10%, plus basic device information (model, OS and app version, country). Used to improve the app. Amplitude is a US company; data may be processed in the United States. No audio, transcripts, names, email addresses, precise location or advertising identifier are sent, and Amplitude does not store your IP address. If you answer the optional in-app question about why you use the app, your answer is stored only in Amplitude, not Google. Events are linked to the anonymous app user ID used for your subscription. Amplitude Privacy Notice
- Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) – if the app crashes, a report with device and app details is sent so the problem can be fixed.
- Subscriptions (Apple, Google Play and RevenueCat) – purchases are processed by Apple on iPhone and by Google Play on Android. RevenueCat receives purchase history and an anonymous app user ID to confirm your subscription. RevenueCat also sends subscription events (trial, renewal, cancellation) to Amplitude under the same anonymous ID. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
