PawAI - Privacy Policy

Overview
PawAI ("we", "our", "the app") is a pet care assistant application that helps you track your pet's health, medications, feeding, and get AI-powered pet care insights. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
Data Stored on Your Device
PawAI stores the following data locally on your device only using SQLite:
- Your name (for personalization)
- Pet profiles (name, breed, age, weight, photo, notes)
- Health records (vaccinations, vet visits, surgeries, tests)
- Medication schedules
- Feeding logs
- App preferences and settings
This data is never uploaded to external servers, synced to the cloud, or shared with third parties. It remains entirely on your device.
AI Insights Feature
When you use the AI Insights feature, the following data is sent to our secure server proxy to generate a response:
- Your pet's profile information (name, type, breed, age, weight)
- Recent health records, active medications, and feeding logs (for context)
- The insight category you selected
How AI data is processed:
- Your request is sent via encrypted HTTPS to our server proxy (hosted on Supabase)
- The proxy forwards the request to DeepSeek AI for response generation
- Responses are returned to your device in real-time
- No pet data or queries are permanently stored on our servers or by the AI provider
- Data is processed solely to generate the requested insight and is not used for training, profiling, or marketing
Advertising
PawAI displays advertisements through Google AdMob to support the free app. AdMob may collect the following data:
- Device Advertising Identifier (IDFA) - Used to serve personalized ads
- Device information - Device model, OS version, screen size
- IP address - For approximate location-based ad targeting
- Ad interaction data - Impressions, clicks, and video completion
You can opt out of personalized advertising:
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking > disable tracking for PawAI
- You will be asked for permission before ad tracking is enabled (App Tracking Transparency)

Data Security
We take data security seriously:
- All local data is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID, etc.)
- AI communications use encrypted HTTPS connections
- No API keys or credentials are stored on your device
- Our server proxy does not log or retain your pet data
Children's Privacy
PawAI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Your Rights
- Delete all data: Use Settings > Delete All Data within the app to permanently remove all local data
- Opt out of ad tracking: Disable tracking in iOS Settings or deny the tracking permission prompt
- Export your data: Use Settings > Export Health Data to export your records as CSV
Since all personal data is stored locally on your device, uninstalling the app also removes all data permanently.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
